Max Vision | LASIK PROCEDURE
LASIK or (Laser-Assisted-In-Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the safest and most effective vision correction procedures. Dr. Parikkh will use a gentle laser to create a thin round shaped flap in the cornea, then carefully lift the flap which exposes the inner tissue of the cornea. The surgeon will then re-shape the cornea with a pulsing cool laser beam. This laser beam will sculpt your cornea to match the shape of your contact lens or eye glass prescription. Next, the surgeon will return the corneal flap to it’s original position which starts the natural healing process. The entire LASIK procedure takes approximately 10 minutes per each eye from start to finish.

Quick, Painless Procedures to Optimize Your Vision
The PRK laser vision correction process is completed in approximately 30 to 60 seconds, and immediately afterwards, a clear bandage contact lens is placed on the cornea to protect it. Additional eye drops are applied. Since a layer about as slender as a human hair is typically removed, the cornea should maintain its original strength. Often, only one eye is treated per surgery day, although your surgeon may decide to do both of your eyes on the same day.
For some patients, laser vision correction surgery is not the best course of treatment, such as for patients who have extreme nearsightedness or farsightedness, suffer from the discomforts of cataracts, or have extremely dry eyes. For these patients, we may recommend the Phakic intraocular lens (IOL). In this form of treatment, an intraocular lens is surgically implanted into the cornea. The lens is permanent (although it can be surgically removed) and needs no maintenance. The Phakic IOL reduces the need for glasses or contact lenses by correcting your vision inside the eye, without removing the eye’s natural lens.
Without surgically removing the cataract, most patients with cataracts will have blurred vision, if not complete blindness. Surgically removing the cataract is the only way to restore vision and see the world clearly once again.
The cataract operation is normally an outpatient procedure, and most patients are discharged immediately after the cataract surgery. First, a local anesthesia. Next, the surgeon creates a very small incision in the cornea and inserts a tiny high frequency ultrasound probing device to break down the cataract (the eye’s clouded natural lens), then inserts a miniature suction device to remove the broken down clouded lens; this process is called (phacoemulsification), then the cataract surgeon with the same device replaces the clouded lens with a new artificial lens.
